Amanda R. (Hand) Martinez, age 71 of Port Elizabeth, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 in Cooper University Hospital, Camden after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, she was a life long resident.
Mrs. Martinez was a homemaker. She loved to go shopping, and she collected stuffed animals and baby dolls. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially babysitting her grandchildren.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by five sons, Joseph and Lou Martinez, both of Port Elizabeth, Richard and Sam Martinez, both of Millville, and Bob Martinez of Woodbine; four daughters, Maria Tomlin of Cumberland, Edith Quesenberry of Trenton, Lisa Martinez of CT, and Mary Martinez of Buena; one sister Shirley Pettit of Vineland; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Jose Martinez; her parents Floyd Hand Sr. and Irene (Wilson); one sister Rosean Martinez; and one brother Floyd Hand Jr.
Private funeral services will be held by the family.
The family requests memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, Southern Shore Chapter, 850 N. Franklin Blvd., Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
