Alfred T. Selva died suddenly after an accidental fall on Monday, July 29, 2013.
He was born in Riverside, NJ on April 26, 1938 to Alfred J. Selva and Marie (McNamee) Selva.
Alfred is survived by Jeanne R. (Heisler) Selva, loving and devoted wife of 52 years; his brother Francis I. Selva; daughters, Hera C. Selva and Erica M. Selva and Erica's husband David L. Raden; and six grandchildren, Hillary Stribula, Julian Selva-Jones, Elena S. Raden, Cordelia Selva-Jones, Tyler S. Raden and Nicholas S. Raden.
Alfred graduated from Rider University in 1961, and he received his MA Degree from Notre Dame University in 1963. A Professor of History and Humanities at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA for almost 40 years, he continued to teach courses locally at Fairleigh Dickinson University. An avid gardener, cook, traveler and intellectual, he was always eager to partake in philosophical conversation.
Guests are welcomed and encouraged to share their remembrances at the funeral service on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
